Minnesota Fire Department Temporarily Suspends EMS Responses Due to Lack of PPE

From FireFighterNation

STEWARTVILLE, Minn. – Stewartville is temporarily suspending EMS in its first response area.

KMIT reports that the Stewartville Fire Department is the only fire service provider for Stewartville and surrounding townships.

Officials say firefighters need to stay healthy to continue to respond to fires and accidents.

Because of the shortages of personal protection equipment, Stewartville does not have enough masks for its firefighters on medical calls.

Mayo Clinic Ambulance will continue to respond to calls in the Stewartville area.

Stewartville firefighters will be ready as a back-up on medical calls.

Stewartville will be able to lift this suspension whenever it is able to secure more personal protective equipment.
